Hot runner systems will be offered under the brand Oerlikon HRSflow Oerlikon announced today that it has successfully closed the acquisition of the Italian company INglass S.p.A. and its innovative hot runner systems technology operating under its market-leading HRSflow business. The acquisition accelerates Oerlikon’s strategy in diversifying its manmade fibers business to expand into the high-growth polymer processing solutions market. INglass S.p.A. is an internationally operating successful company established in 1987. Its product portfolio includes hot runners as well as engineering and consultancy services for the advanced development of polymer processing products. The hot runner systems will be offered under the Oerlikon HRSflow brand in the future. Those are applied in multiple industries from automotive, consumer goods and household appliances to packaging, waste management, construction and transportation. Oerlikon HRSflow will be integrated into the Oerlikon Flow Control Solutions Business Unit, which is part of the Oerlikon Polymer Processing Solutions Division. After receiving all the required merger control approvals, Oerlikon and INglass S.p.A. successfully closed the acquisition on June 9, 2021. #Oerlikon has consistently implemented the structural and productivity programs and is ahead in executing the plan. Our manmade fibers business is stable and on track for its targeted deliveries for 2020. In Surface Solutions, we are ahead of our schedule on executing structural cost-out measures and the benefits can already be clearly seen in our third quarter results. The SafeZone technology can ensure that the minimum distance of, for example, 1.5 meters is always maintained. By wearing the sensor either on the wrist or as a pendant, contact chains can be tracked precisely and immediate measures such as quarantining the affected persons can be taken, in the event of a #covidー19 infection.
